Meet Harley!

Harley started out life as Nia (Purpose) with orange paint on her butt to identify her. She was the 8th pup born, 1 of the 3 via C section. When it came time to use collars of course we chose an orange one. Here in Wisconsin that orange color can mean only one of two things! Deer Hunters Blaze Orange wasnt a good name --- so naturally the logo for Harley Davidson came in to play.

Harley is a medium yellow color with an expressive face. she should be a medium sized dog, around 55-60 lbs. She is curious about everything and is usually packing something around in her mouth.

Harley likes to play and will gladly chase a ball then run toward you as if she wants to retrieve. It sort of stops there right now...

Here she is resting after chasing a leaf.

Puppy Pile

We praised the puppies and told them how good they were to lay down and take a break. Next thing you know Dixie tried to fit her butt on the puppy bed. Somebody is sucking up for a treat...

Breakfast

Here is how they start the day. We must wait patiently for food, then the dishes are put down. They still mob the dishes and sometimes try to steal each others food but they are getting pretty good. I like them to have manners -- even at this age they need to behave the best they can.

Meet our lightest yellow female, Winda - meaning Hunter! She had a hard day yesterday trying to conquer the hidey hole under the back step. Here she is stretched out and rolling in the grass.

Its a tough job making sure you rule the hole under the step. Our black girl Mpita and Zuri the beige female were also vying for control.

Here is Winda having a quiet moment.

They are such pleasers! They have learned to "Kennel" by going in the pen and sitting down. All 6 are doing it they just dont all sit in order. The other 2 were behind me.

Experts tell us that the puppies are learning about rejection and pack order, when to let go and when to hang on with all of your being. Really I think they are having a ton of fun!!!

Learning Time

We've been busy learning great life skills. Like how to dig a hole. Our black girl, Traveler got the hang of it right away and went on to root chewing. Probably getting ready for your garden this spring.

Lucky learned you never, ever take a woobie from your Mom. Even if she says, "Go ahead, try it."

Nia still thinks she is the fastest puppy on earth. Its quite possible she is trying to fly with those ears flopping in the air. Or maybe she just likes carrying a ball around. Those small tennis balls are great! Must be made for Yorkies but puppies love to practice with them too.

Water Dog

Big is on a mission to empty the water dish. Watch what happens when a bug buzzes him. If it flies, it dies...

Going Green

King of the Lid!

Preparing to jump down

It takes a pack to tip over the recycling.

It took Eucker 2 seconds to walk in the bin and bring out a beer can. He could have chosen a pop can...

Supper Time

This is the pack waiting for their dinner. We all must wait quietly to eat. Dont they look like little angels? Refer to the recycling post...

Here is Eucker discovering his 1st pheasant. He pounced on it as if he were the greatest hunter of all times!

Say Hello to Mpita (Traveler). She was born in the truck on the way to the Vet. She is inquisitive but not too agressive. she is always in the action. Right now she is the female to watch - using her nose and trying to potty away from the crowd. At this age there isnt much more to her world!

We got lucky with this action shot. Longa (Big) ran from the porch into the kitchen with a 2.5 foot long toy snake. Notice Zuri (beautiful) in mid air about to stop him in his tracks. At one point we had 7 puppies tugging on that poor snake...
