Just having a little fun!

Zuri discovered the toilet paper. Of course if one puppy has something the other one wants it too. Soon star was ripping and tearing right alongside Zuri.

When that got boring they chomped on the pile of tissue on the floor.

It soon became apparent that the entire roll must die!

It only takes one puppy to empty a roll of toilet paper but two can do it much more efficiently. They thought it looked better strung through the kitchen as well.

Live Birds are a Blast!

Last wednesday we took the girls out to play with live birds. They were a real hoot to watch!

Zuri pretty much ran up and grabbed the bird like she had been doing professional retrieving for years. She then wanted to keep it...forever.

Then came Star. She barked at the bird, nipped it, charged it, layed on it, barked some more, ate feathers... you get the picture. Drama, drama!

Once we took the hobbles off the bird it was all business. She picked up the hen once she thought it could get away and brought it to me when called.

Draggin' Zuri

Dixie has taken to playing with the girls as if they are big dogs. Here Zuri just hangs on and eventually is allowed to play with the doll.

Helpful Puppies

Here are Zuri (front) and Star helping with the recycling. Or they really like wine.

Here they are in Dixies living room bed. Tired puppies or too much $3 Chuck?

Saturday December 11th Pups Available!

Here are the current members of the 4 legged wrestling team. Zuri, pink collar and Star, purple collar. They had a rough nite last nite - meaning everyone had a rough nite... Too many training treats equals too much suger for a toddler. They werent quite bouncing off the walls but they had their crates hoppin'.

We've been working on heel, sit and down. Its crazy the way they hit the floor on a down command - I swear the floor shakes. Anything for a treat!

Starr at the Table

Starr's favorite spot is at the dinner table. She is totally ruled by her tummy. She sits by her dish whenever she thinks there is the slightest chance it could be meal time.

Jade Checking In

Here are pictures of Jade (alias Ninja) from her new family. Her companion is Ellie. Isnt she adorable? She is sitting there like a big dog would!

1st Tournament Travel

We took the pups to the Minnesota Horse and Hunt over the weekend. They rode in the car for a couple hours each way and they were troopers! No mishaps or accidents and one potty stop each way. Here they are taking a break from watching the competition.

From Left to right: Dixie, Zuri and Star.

The snow was chest deep on the pups but they plowed right through. No hopping about and running on the paths for them. Its good practice for heavy cover in the future.

This was a great way to expose them to new things and be around people. Jason brought a chuckar over so they got a nose full of partridge feathers as well, their Moms favorite bird....

They got to meet other dogs and puppies. Ike even put in an appearance and sniffed them over.

Snow Pups

Lucky went home last night. We have been the lucky ones - all of our puppies are in great homes. They will all get to hunt and most have kids or another dog to chase around.

The girls, Zuri and Star had a wrestling match like no other this morning. I think the snow had a lot to do with the fun. They are just like little kids running and sliding, just plain fooling around in the snow. Although I dont remember ever chomping on my sisters leg during a snow fight...probably I just dont remember.

Starr usually looks so light colored but the snow really makes her look dark. She is a gorgeous pup with a great attitude, unless you chomp on her leg.

They helped shovel snow by watching carefully then messing up the sidewalk. Here Zuri takes a break. She looks like she is resting but really she is watching for an opening.

As of today these are the 2 to choose from.

Practice makes perfect.

This morning during our quality time I was playing fetch with a small squeaky ball. Zuri did the first 2 returns, then Star took over. They are returning to me really well.

Stars Dance

Star fetches wings with a great deal of drama! She dodges and feints, twists and turns, nips and licks -- then she picks up the wing and shakes it, rolls her eyes and runs the other way. Next she barrels straight at you. You could set this routine to music - maybe an opera. We are practicing on the porch because it was wet and cold outside.

Lucky Fetching Feathers

Lucky doesn't just run out to the mark. His front paws are reaching for the his target at all times. Then he leaps into the air and pounces on it. He doesnt have any trouble picking up feathers!
