Water Dog Revisited

I found several videos that I hadn't posted. Apparently you need to know how to use a Blackberry better than I do. Indulge me please, these may be out of chronological order. One is of Star discovering the garden hose, Dixie playing keep away and Lucky mopping the floor are the other two.

Its Playtime!

Lucky and floor cleaning

Lucky can run (with) a swiffer. How many puppies do you know that can help clean the floor?

Lucky Fetch!

Pardon my lack of camera skills. Here is video of Lucky working on his retrieving skills. They are so commical - ears flopping, tail going and literally pouncing on the trainer! Its hard for ME to concentrate.

New Kennel

I came out to take a photo of the puppies new kennel and puppy house (note the smaller door). However they got chasing and wrestling and it was more fun to watch them!

1st time in snow.

The 4 legged team went out into snow for the 1st time this morning. They were so surprised! We had to dig a squillion holes in the slush and eat huge mouthfuls of snow. Once they got cold and wet there was a stand off over who got to claim the bench for an umbrella.

The Good and the Bad

How many puppies does it take to load a dishwasher? Just a few weeks ago they were IN the dishwasher. Now they have learned to sit somewhat patiently, even with the fabulous smells from dirty dishes. Lucky looks like he is using laser vision to get a food bowl to fall out...
I noticed our Ninja Girl fussing at a blanket she had buried a chew toy under - didn't think too much of it. Turns out she was after the puppy kit I keep made so buyers have supplies when they take a pup home. It WAS on said blanket, on top of a crate. I'm unsure how she got it down but I suspect the rest of the demo team will let her take the fall...

Big Kids Now!

Here is Winda with Lucky eating from their new table. We put legs on the dish holder to get their food up to chest level. They went to eating twice a day and are packing away 1 1/2 cups of kibble at each meal.

4 Pups to choose from 11/5/2010

The 1st 2 photos are of Winda (Hunter), she is the whitest of our females. She has the mascara and black muzzle many owners look for. I took a side shot to show how she stacks nicely. (She also held still long enough for a 2nd shot...)

The 3rd picture is of Zuri (Beautiful). She tips the scale at 20 pounds. Zuri is light yellow, almost beige and has the exact mannerisms of her mother. She seems to be the leader of the pack today. They sort of take turns right now.

Next we see Mpita (Traveler) in stalking mode. Our little black Ninja has a strong prey drive. Here she was about to jump on her sister!

The guy with the silver collar is Sudi (Luck). Lucky is our lone boy. He is a really easy puppy. Lucky is content to let the girls wrestle and fight over a toy. Then when they aren't looking he will dart in, snitch the toy, and hide it in a kennel. There just may be a life lesson to be learned from Lucky!

North Dakota Trip

Take a look at Walter! Walter was our white male puppy. Here he is on his first official hunting trip! What do you suppose is going through his head?

North Dakota seems to agree with Walter and his buddies!

Meet Harley!

Harley started out life as Nia (Purpose) with orange paint on her butt to identify her. She was the 8th pup born, 1 of the 3 via C section. When it came time to use collars of course we chose an orange one. Here in Wisconsin that orange color can mean only one of two things! Deer Hunters Blaze Orange wasnt a good name --- so naturally the logo for Harley Davidson came in to play.

Harley is a medium yellow color with an expressive face. she should be a medium sized dog, around 55-60 lbs. She is curious about everything and is usually packing something around in her mouth.

Harley likes to play and will gladly chase a ball then run toward you as if she wants to retrieve. It sort of stops there right now...

Here she is resting after chasing a leaf.

Puppy Pile

We praised the puppies and told them how good they were to lay down and take a break. Next thing you know Dixie tried to fit her butt on the puppy bed. Somebody is sucking up for a treat...

Breakfast

Here is how they start the day. We must wait patiently for food, then the dishes are put down. They still mob the dishes and sometimes try to steal each others food but they are getting pretty good. I like them to have manners -- even at this age they need to behave the best they can.

Meet our lightest yellow female, Winda - meaning Hunter! She had a hard day yesterday trying to conquer the hidey hole under the back step. Here she is stretched out and rolling in the grass.

Its a tough job making sure you rule the hole under the step. Our black girl Mpita and Zuri the beige female were also vying for control.

Here is Winda having a quiet moment.

They are such pleasers! They have learned to "Kennel" by going in the pen and sitting down. All 6 are doing it they just dont all sit in order. The other 2 were behind me.

Experts tell us that the puppies are learning about rejection and pack order, when to let go and when to hang on with all of your being. Really I think they are having a ton of fun!!!

Learning Time

We've been busy learning great life skills. Like how to dig a hole. Our black girl, Traveler got the hang of it right away and went on to root chewing. Probably getting ready for your garden this spring.

Lucky learned you never, ever take a woobie from your Mom. Even if she says, "Go ahead, try it."

Nia still thinks she is the fastest puppy on earth. Its quite possible she is trying to fly with those ears flopping in the air. Or maybe she just likes carrying a ball around. Those small tennis balls are great! Must be made for Yorkies but puppies love to practice with them too.

Water Dog

Big is on a mission to empty the water dish. Watch what happens when a bug buzzes him. If it flies, it dies...

Going Green

King of the Lid!

Preparing to jump down

It takes a pack to tip over the recycling.

It took Eucker 2 seconds to walk in the bin and bring out a beer can. He could have chosen a pop can...
